Chapter 16: Crossed Paths

Potato and Blaze had left the ruined buildings since then. They headed to the forest to set up their camp so they won't have a hard time getting comfortable for the night. "Do we still gotta keep on looking for a better spot?" asked Potato, holding a bundle of wooden sticks and planks. Blaze nodded and continued walking. Suddenly, he paused and raised a clenched fist to signal Potato to stop. A cannon suddenly fired, followed by another. Two people just died as soon as Blaze and Potato arrived on that spot, while they witnessed a pair trying to hold off someone who was overwhelming them. "Wait. We'll ambush." They both hurried behind a tree as they wait for their opportune moment while watching the fight ensue. It was Unikern fending off BlueSlime, who was trying to snipe him from afar with a bow, and Soccer, fighting him fair and square in a sword duel. Arthur and Ryan however, were already killed, implied by the two cannons that fired moments ago. Arthur w...

Chapter 15: Resonant Call

"Man, even for a simulation, everything feels real. This place feels like home for whatever reason." Potato went silent, but something distant clicked within his mind. “Home… Gaillardia. ” Potato and Blaze were walking amidst ruined buildings further into the plains of the simulation. Various debris and bushes were scattered on the road they took. "Like the ones in Sparrow Gaillardia? Yeah, they kinda do feel like home." replied Blaze. "We should scout for things inside the ruins, we may find some good stuff to keep." The pair first ventured into what looked like a partially dilapidated house out of stone and bricks. It had vines growing on the walls that seemed to consume parts of the building. The building had nothing inside besides the overgrowth of plants, so they both went up a stony dirt path leading to the ruins of an abandoned cathedral, in hopes of getting supplies or an overpowered weapon. As they trekked along the way, both of them felt like the...

Chapter 14: Restless

Earlier ~Unikern~ It was the start of the simulation. Unikern, and his grandpa, Ryan, struggled to get items from the cornucopia, only to be pushed aside by the other contenders. "Grandpa Rya- woah!" called Unikern. At this point, the cornucopia had already been looted dry, people were already starting to kill each other. He immediately noticed Omega and Conhadda, killing Brialgic and teaming up against TGT, harming Enchanted, and then slaughtering FKY and Chip who were fleeing from the place. There is no escape, we mustn't be seen. Unikern thought. It was chaotic, Old Ryan was already trampled by a contender rushing for the cornucopia loot; he struggled to get up and called his grandson for help. Sonicjo saw the old man. He unsheathed his stone blade, ready to slaughter his helpless opponent from behind only for Unikern to notice from afar. He raised his stony weapon, and swung it at Ryan's head, nearly slicing it in half. Unikern's eyes widened as he witnessed S...

Chapter 13: Battle Against a Flying Foe

HackThoop swooped down with his Elytra, and charged at the three with a trident, ready to impale them. Pixel rolled to the ground to dodge the attack, barely surviving as he felt the cold metal touch on the sleeve of his sweater. Sterloin deflected the trident before it could hit Arianna, parrying the charge with a single swing from his netherite sword and effectively scratching HackThoop's arm with the dark blade. His cut closed up in a matter of seconds as if nothing happened to it. Derp snuck from behind, swung his fish at the unsuspecting Sterloin, and knocked him back with one, impactful hit. He was sent back flying and fell offthe mountain's peak with such great force. Before he could even fall to his doom, Sterloin grabbed onto a stony ledge, and slowly began to climb his way up. Arianna took out her iron hoe, wielding it alongside her pickaxe. She sprinted, and lunged towards Derp, with both weapons in hand, only to be pushed away with a gust of wind from the flap of Ha...

Chapter 12: God Complex

Earlier * Adept was chasing Pixel off after grabbing a bow and three arrows that were hanging from a quiver on an oak tree. Before Adept could even turn around and reach for his arrows, Pixel pleaded for him to spare his life.  "Wait no, Adept, stop!" yelled Pixel. Adept then followed him, though he still didn't let his guard down. "I can't fight you fairly, one shot then I'll be dead."  "Alright, but what's the point? The real games are exactly like this. Everyone knows what happened to Blueveria and MJ." Adept gripped the arrow between his hands, pulled the tight bowstrings, and aimed at Pixel's head, ready to fire his weapon.  "Wait wait wait, that's not the point!" Pixel insisted. "You see, a lot of other people are teaming up together and-"  "Cool, I'll just wipe them off the simulation so they can meet their maker."  Twang!  Adept let go of the bowstrings. Pixel merely dodged the arrow as it...

Appalachian Morning

~eight-ish years before the events of Chapter 1~ The cool dawn's breeze whispered softly in the distance. Leaves rustled, gently and delicately. The floor was rough with dirt when Creamy opened his eyes. His face was touching it, cold and hard. He blinked, where is he?  White trees surrounded him, their leaves were a pretty green, but not visible yet in this pale dawn light. Birch. He recalled. The forest was full of birch.  He stood up. "Hello?" His cry for help was answered only by fading echoes. Where's... where's the... his head hurt.  There was clearer light on one side of the forest, and gradually as he approached it, chatter. He came into a plaza. The floor was gray stone, but decorated by strings of pastel concrete powder. Hesitantly he joined the crowd of people he saw gathering there, hoping to blend in. His hopes failed him the moment he did so. "Hello, Strange boy! Glad you come! " A tall guy greeted him cheerfully. Creamy awkwardly smiled ba...
