Chapter 27: Enchanted Soliloquy

back in the simulation ~Enchanted~ The cave seemed quiet now, when Enchanted concentrated really hard, he could hear drops of water; echoing from seemingly far away. The sweat that trailed down his back and the heavy breaths he couldn’t stop himself from taking were the only evidence of the death chase that had started a mere five minutes ago, but now it seems like they are leaving him alone. Perhaps the cave was too dark, and they thought it wasn’t worth it. Perhaps they think he’ll just die on his own. Enchanted’s eyes adjusted a little more, and he stared at the bumpy ceiling. Beyond, the occasional water drops continued. If he has water, he’ll at least be fine for… a week…? At least that seems to be what he remembered. He never studied, oh, he wasn’t cut out for this at all! … The stream was down the cave a little bit more. Enchanted sat down by the side of it.  He has water now, but no food. Nothing at all. How long can people survive without food? He forgot, but the hungry fe...

Chapter 26: Requiem

Omega woke up in the comfort of his room in his cabin. He lay on the bed, looking directly at the lantern hanging on the wooden ceiling. He had rested comfortably from a deep sleep that night; he no longer felt dizzy. He felt somewhat energized compared to when he woke up somewhere in the Spawn Castle. The simulation must've ended by now. He thought. I should get to Leader Splodger. Despite how important these things were to him, it took him an hour and a half to move his legs off of his bed by an inch. He reached out for the cap on his nightstand and put it on his head.  He went to a nearby stream to take a bath, then went straight to his changing room to wear a fresh, new set of clothes and apply a faint, yet sweet-smelling exotic perfume on. After getting dressed, he picked up a vintage bottle of red wine from his cellar and placed it inside an ornate gift box. He then wrapped it with red grainy paper and sealed it with a yellow ribbon. "Hmm, that'll do." said Om...

Chapter 25: Reverie

Omega opened his eyes. He found himself lying on a field of Cornflowers, a flower that a certain late friend of his liked. Cornflowers? What on Earth is this place, then? He thought. He looked around and saw that everything looked monochromatic grey as far as his eyes could see, except for the petals of the said flowers. The field also seemed to stretch endlessly. Is this a dream? Whatever, I'll get through this. The place looked rather unrealistic and dreamy, but it felt real for Omega despite the whimsical, otherworldly feel. He couldn't describe the feeling welling up deep inside him, but he felt a strong sense of nostalgia, and a desire compelling him to know more about wherever he's in. Out of curiosity, he got up and traversed through the endless azure plain of flowers. After walking for so long, he stopped to pick one of the flowers from the field. Ah, just look at how pretty these flowers look, no wonder she likes them so much. Omega thought to himself as he admir...
