Chapter 12: God Complex

Earlier * Adept was chasing Pixel off after grabbing a bow and three arrows that were hanging from a quiver on an oak tree. Before Adept could even turn around and reach for his arrows, Pixel pleaded for him to spare his life.  "Wait no, Adept, stop!" yelled Pixel. Adept then followed him, though he still didn't let his guard down. "I can't fight you fairly, one shot then I'll be dead."  "Alright, but what's the point? The real games are exactly like this. Everyone knows what happened to Blueveria and MJ." Adept gripped the arrow between his hands, pulled the tight bowstrings, and aimed at Pixel's head, ready to fire his weapon.  "Wait wait wait, that's not the point!" Pixel insisted. "You see, a lot of other people are teaming up together and-"  "Cool, I'll just wipe them off the simulation so they can meet their maker."  Twang!  Adept let go of the bowstrings. Pixel merely dodged the arrow as it...

Appalachian Morning

~eight-ish years before the events of Chapter 1~ The cool dawn's breeze whispered softly in the distance. Leaves rustled, gently and delicately. The floor was rough with dirt when Creamy opened his eyes. His face was touching it, cold and hard. He blinked, where is he?  White trees surrounded him, their leaves were a pretty green, but not visible yet in this pale dawn light. Birch. He recalled. The forest was full of birch.  He stood up. "Hello?" His cry for help was answered only by fading echoes. Where's... where's the... his head hurt.  There was clearer light on one side of the forest, and gradually as he approached it, chatter. He came into a plaza. The floor was gray stone, but decorated by strings of pastel concrete powder. Hesitantly he joined the crowd of people he saw gathering there, hoping to blend in. His hopes failed him the moment he did so. "Hello, Strange boy! Glad you come! " A tall guy greeted him cheerfully. Creamy awkwardly smiled ba...

Chapter 11: Dragon Fish

“What’s under there?” Webby whispered. His teammate, Shatadru, isn’t listening - focusing on the magic map that they had brought into the simulation. Dusk has yet to fall in day three of the simulation, but the sky is dark. They are trekking through a swamp - the thick undergrowth stopping them from moving any faster. The hole that Webby was looking at is odd - it’s just small enough for someone to fit through, but Webby could not figure out why it was just  there , without anything around it. “Shatadru!” Webby called again. “What do you think is under there?” Shatadru shrugged. “How am I supposed to know? The magic map doesn’t cover underground spaces.” The magic map that they had brought in was not magic - it was a normal map that filled the spaces around you in as you traveled, just like any other map - they were simply rare in the Hive District. “Wanna go see?” Curiosity poked at Webby as he bent down to listen. “I think I hear something.” “Be careful.” Shatadru’s words just so...

Chapter 10: A Poison is Also a Gift

 >8 Scissors 8< Scissors spent the night under the giant mushroom after witnessing Shark being murdered by Omega. As day three's sunlight approached closer and closer to the horizon, he stood up, still sleepy, wondering the destination for today. The arena was quiet at this hour. Not too far away he can hear some insects buzzing, but those were the only noises that filled the empty void. I'll move before everything is completely lit up. He stood up, listening for any sign of life. After making sure he was safe, he silently crept around the tall grass. Ahead of him he could see the foot of the mountain. A carefully hidden cave tunneled its way through the base of the mountain, the only thing giving it away is the mysterious light coming from the entrance. There. He thought, approaching closer until he was at the opening. He couldn't see the end of it.  With each step the cave got darker, the only things lighting his way are the purple glow-in-the-dark crystals on the w...

Chapter 9: Ravens of Ravel Ravine

=-Stick-= Another one! Stick inwardly squealed in delight. Just the perfect length! He picked up the next stick, adding it to his pile. "Why, in the world, would you bring sticks into the arena. Why?" Behind him, his teammate, Six, impatiently asked. "Hey, I could say the same thing about that noteblock necklace of yours."  Under every one of Six's noteblocks was either ice or gold. As they traversed through the gloomy forest, Stick worried about their shininess giving them away.  "Well, noteblocks are useful. What can you do with sticks?" You just don't know their power.  The dark leaves of the trees surrounding them slowly faded into bright lime green. When they left the forest behind them, they're face to face with a mountain that Stick couldn't see the top of. "Uhh...we're not going up that, right?" Six asked. "No. Remember what happened to MJ and Blueveria?" "What happened to MJ and Blueveria?"  Stic...
