Aritist

~two months before the events of Chapter 1~  Ari blinked against the setting sun, watching a group of parrots fly across the sky. She loved Dove Rose's fields. Ahead she could see the blood orange sun dipping into the ocean, ready to let the moon take over for the night.  "May I join you...?" Footsteps approached her. It was Pixel.  "Of course, tell Sterloin to come too." Ari answered.  She relished in the soft grass. Some moments later Sterloin came too, sitting down beside her. The three of them, just like when she first came to Hive District.  "I like the grass. It's soft and soothing, and when I'm feeling lost I feel like it's supporting me." Ari broke the silence. "I feel the same way with swords." Sterloin said. Then Ari remembered. A similar moment, from such a long time ago.  ~ ~ It was some years before now, another warm spring day, just like this one. Ari was also lying in the grass, also watching the sunset. Not too far

Fallen

The dim white sky shone sorrowfully into the deep parts of Gift Jungle, casting a depressing light on every leaf it touches. Tilky brushed aside the brambles covering up a cave entrance and quietly crept among the edges until she's in complete darkness. Her eyes have adjusted to that, of course.  In the middle of the cave there stood a rock. It reflected moonlight when the moon's up but was always dark when the sun is in the sky instead. Most Defiance clans have grown to treat the rock as sacred. A majestic figure sat on the rock, looking down sadly over at something so far away. "What's for dinner?" Tilky called. "Oh...it doesn't even matter, does it?" Verna's reply was bleak. There have been lots of days where the former Leader sat like that, depressed, ever since Morrowsorrel District lost the 30th Circle Trial. "Right, I supposed so." Dinner doesn't matter to Tilky, she just wanted a reason to see Verna again. "How many day

Chapter 6: On the Way

Creamy :o Creamy couldn't sleep. When he finally did sleep, it wasn't a good sleep and he didn't dream. When he woke up, it was barely dawn. The sky is a dim light blue - barely a blue. He couldn't see any stars through the white birch branches. Othr was still asleep, or pretending to be asleep. Creamy couldn't tell. He wanted to call his name but didn't want to wake him up just in case he was actually asleep. Quietly Creamy pushed open the door, feeling dawn's cool breeze on his face. He closed it behind him, hoping that he didn't make too loud of a sound. He must have did, because a second later Appa flew out and landed on his shoulder, looking tired. The Confire was lit up, the only light in the dark town beneath the trees. Creamy spotted Scissors on top of the scaffolding. "You stayed for the night?" Creamy asked. "Yes." Scissors was cooking fish.  "Don't tell me that's for breakfast." "It is. Since you wo

Chapter 5: Countdown Day

Creamy :o ConCraft is lively against the dappled rays through Conwoods, just like all other summer mornings. Creamy is inside, watching the parrots dance against the tall birch trees. Where's Appa...she should have arrived by now...  Othr went out to the plaza to do something since dawn and still hasn't returned yet, which wasn't like him at all. That plus the fact that Appa still hasn't arrived yet had made Creamy worry all morning.  "Let all members of ConCraft gather beneath the Great Fallen Tree for a town meeting!" Mayor Conhadda announced from the distance. Good, Creamy needed something to distract himself with.  The Great Fallen Tree didn't have any complicated history. When Conhadda founded ConCraft he'd simply chopped it down and decided to give it a dramatic name.  Creamy joined Blue and Unikern closest to the Great Fallen Tree. That's the spots reserved for the town veterans. Once he settled, Conhadda surveyed the ConCraft glade. "
